Beaver problems have grown to great proportions in Minnesota. Beavers have ecological benefits such as creating sanctuaries for waterfowl, mammals, and aquatic insects which promote healthy fisheries, such as those for brook trout. But at times beavers encroach on private properties and can create devastating damage such as damming up water that can flood out valuable agricultural land or precious residential property. Damages can run into the $1,000s.
Beavers have one litter of babies in early spring that usually consist of 4 to 6 kits. As these kits grow up they can contribute to increased damages. If your property is having devastating effects caused by beavers, SRWC can remove them through spring, summer, and fall months of the year. SRWC is fully licensed and permitted for doing beaver depredation work. The MN DNR sets specific requirements that have to be followed on how to deal with nuisance and problematic beavers. After nuisance beavers have been removed, SRWC offers detonation service of beaver dams to allow water levels to recede to manageable levels. Please call 218-269-0944 if you have further questions or concerns in regards to nuisance beavers.
